Dumbest Fans in America: #2 The Kentucky Wildcats

UK Basketball fans are rabid and can be as obnoxious as any Alabama Football fan.

Last year he made $12,462 working part-time at Walgreen's before taxes and spent $4,828 on SEC tourney and NCAA basketball tickets.

While I don’t necessarily believe that Kentuckians are stupid he does have a point, or two. Remember that the word ‘Fan’ is short for ‘Fanatic’ which means rabid and over the top enthusiasm so let’s take pride in making their list.

Next year……………….#1

"Kentucky basketball fans are the dumbest basketball fans in the country and there isn't a close second.

Intelligent Kentucky basketball fans -- and there are at least a handful -- solemnly acknowledge this fact.

While every other Southern school is obsessed with football, Kentucky, forever unable to compete in football, adopted basketball as its chosen sport. That doesn't stop Kentucky basketball fans from choosing other football teams to root for either. Kentucky basketball fans will root for Ohio State, Tennessee, even, of late, and this fan has to be the worst on earth, Alabama for football.

There is no worse human being on earth than a Kentucky basketball fan and an Alabama football fan.

Have you no shame, Wildcat fans?"

Teddy Bridgewater Game Management INC and UL Crushes Rutgers

It took a fake field goal trick play to score Rutgers only touchdown and any other program not trying to make a case for a BCS title would be happy with the Offense. 25  NFL scouts, to include the GM of the Jacksonville Jaguars, watched as Teddy Bridgewater tossed up decent fantasy football numbers. More impressive was the balanced UL offense 32 runs and 31passes and clock eating drives managed by Teddy. Despite an interception, not his fault, and a fumble caused by a blindside sack Teddy Bridgewater went 21 for 31 with two touchdowns. What the scouts had to have been impressed by was the fact that after a hit that would have rattled the best QBs in the NFL Bridgewater jumped up, checked for the next play, got in the huddle, said something to his blindside tackle then moved on to win the game. That displayed Grit, Leadership and Maturity that few people in his age group will ever develop. Teddy Bridgewater is one of the best traditional pocket QBs in the last few years. Lets hope his talent is not wasted on a crap hole team like the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The analysts and sports writers that talk down Louisville despite the numbers and BCS rules are the same folks that ruined Tim Tebow's shot at a legitimate NFL career. Don't pay attention to the men behind the curtain. Remember these folks are not actively participating in Collegiate or Professional Football even as a Water Boy. They are getting paid to write, generate links and get viewers angry.

NOTE: The Jacksonville Jaguars have collapsed and are in the midst of a cultural crisis. Why is NFL Commissioner Roger Goddell allowing the GM to visit college programs, host major parties in Louisville while putting an obviously inferior product on the field? Does not the NFL have a duty to the fans to place a legitimate and competitive team on the field each and every Sunday? I am tired of watching otherwise competitive teams openly throw games in order to draft the Heisman Trophy winner. I hope the NY Giants go winless so they can draft Teddy instead……….

Mark Coomes: Three reasons why critics are wrong about U of L 'win' over Rutgers | Insider Louisville:

"When the final horn sounded, I was as frustrated and disappointed as the next guy. But after further review, what happened last night was that, for the first time this season, the Cardinals proved themselves to be a legitimate top 10 team.

The polls might say otherwise on Sunday. The cognoscenti said otherwise before the game even ended."

Two more Playoff Teams in 2015?

Roger Goodell: Playoff expansion a possibility for 2015 - NFL.com:

"'If expanding the postseason would allow other teams to get into the dance, and they have the potential of going on and winning the Super Bowl,' Goodell explained, 'that's a good thing for fans, that a good thing competitively.'

If the new rule is adopted, it won't be put into place until the 2015 season because there are scheduling issues next season. Rather than two games apiece on wild-card weekend, each conference would expand to three games.

One possibility for squeezing in extra playoff teams is to reduce the preseason from four weeks to three, although the two issues are not necessarily related. Goodell reiterated that preseason games are not up to NFL standards.

Other issues Goodell addressed Tuesday:

» The NFL has no plans to place a franchise in London. 'Our objective is to grow internationally,' Goodell said. 'We're responding to that interest in the game because the fans want to see it. ... There's a real interest in our game internationally.'

» The league has found no evidence that Thursday night games produce more injuries than any other game. Ratings have more than doubled since NFL Network began broadcasting on Thursday nights. 'It's our job to build 'Thursday Night Football,' ' Goodell added, 'and make it, this is where you want to be on Thursday night, watching NFL football.'

» The NFL actively is looking for a solution that will return a franchise to Los Angeles, but it won't happen without a new stadium. Goodell stressed that it would have to be a site that works and allows for sustained success.

» Growing up in Washington, Goodell does not consider the Redskins name to be derogatory. He did emphasize, however, that the NFL has to keep an open mind because other people have a different perspective. 'We need to listen and carefully listen,' Goodell said, 'and make sure that we're doing what's right.'

On NFL Network NFL Replay will re-air a special 3.5-hour version of the Denver Broncos' 51-48 win over the Dallas Cowboys from Week 5 on Wednesday, Oct. 9 at 9 p.m. ET.

» NFL Network schedule » The NFL announced Tuesday that a third regular-season game will be added to the London schedule for the 2014 season. The Jacksonville Jaguars, Atlanta Falcons and Oakland Raiders each will play one home game at Wembley Stadium next year.

» Goodell confirmed the three finalist cities to host Super Bowl LII in 2018. The three bid cities for the game are Indianapolis, Minneapolis and New Orleans.

» The league also passed a rule Tuesday during that will compel one team per year to participate in the HBO/NFL Films"

Tebow Time Once Again?

According to Twitter Tim Tebow was spotted at the Nashville Airport today. No way the Titans give him a legitimate shot but according to the Sportsmix blog Jacksonville is almost ready for TebowTime…..

SportsMix - Is It Tebow Time Once Again?:

"Gabbert's stats are so bad because he himself is so bad. Get Tebow in there!

A billboard hung up this past week in Jacksonville; the fans really want Tebow. Finally, we have marketing and money for the team. Taking a look at attendance, the Jaguars are roughly 29th in league attendance this season. The only reason why the stadium looked somewhat packed yesterday was because of that promotion involving free beer; who doesn't like free beer? If you sign Tebow, people will flock to Everbank Field to see him play. Even if he's just on the bench for one game, they'll still pay good money to see Tebow. They'll want Tebow shirts, Tebow jersies, maybe even beer cups with Tebow on it. For marketers, having someone on your team like Tebow is genius.

The NFL needs Tebow. Jacksonville needs Tebow. Tebow needs the NFL. Tebow needs Jacksonville. Make this deal happen, Jackonville Jaguars front office. Shahid Khan, Mark Lamping, David Caldwell...all of you, call up Timothy Richard 'Tim' Tebow, give him a job, watch the money and fans flock in, and smile. Hey, maybe you'll find your franchise quarterback!"

Gene Simmons Defends Tim Tebow from Hypocrisy

"‘They’re never going to pick on a guy who tortures dogs [a reference to Michael Vick, and can we get an Amen for that?] or… perhaps has gone to jail for murder,’ Simmons added. ‘But if he believes in Christ his Lord, then he’s open season… it’s like what country are we living in?’"

History of American Football

A Shadow History of American Football | Cracked.com:

"a recent study found that as many as 100 percent of NFL players are men. Ladies, don't you like football? Here are some leagues that don't require a certain percentage of hair on the chest.

Canadian Football League -- Rules are generally the same, but there are only three downs and players apologize for tackling each other. Also, cross-checking is not allowed. In CFL play, a team may not have more than one moose in its defensive line unless the offense includes a bear.

Derpy football is the second-most entertaining football.

The XFL -- This is what happens when you make the CFL angry. Mister, you wouldn't like the CFL when it's angry. (I apologize for making two Hulk jokes in succession, but this is the world we live in now.)

Legends Football League -- To show more respect for its players, the LFL changed its name from the Lingerie Football League and removed all pink bows from the lingerie. Known for its exceptionally vicious play, it includes special rules, like an automatic first down after putting Nair in a player's helmet. There is also a same-side 5-yard penalty for talking about a teammate behind her back, although this is waived if you can't believe that bitch Jessica would do something like this to you; you thought she was your best friend.

Tiny-Mite Pop Warner League -- Known primarily for its running game, this team of 4- to 6-year-olds found itself utterly crushed in an All-Star exhibition game against the NFC East.

Wikipedia

Pop refused to look at them out of disgust (at both their performance and their crumpled little collarbones).

Fantasy Football -- Christ, this is depressing. It's Dungeons & Dragons minus a story and with even more stats. Unless you play this for money, consider doing something more productive with your time, like molesting dolphins. I know that will offend some readers, but I'm not worried, because I just rolled 20 to defend against Impotent Rage spells.

The LXF -- The League of Extraordinary Footballers is composed entirely of football players from fiction who band together to defeat Raiders, Buccaneers, and Bill Belichick. This true fantasy league re-emerges every 20 years or so to defy everyone who says they'll never make something of themselves. Star players include the Waterboy, The Replacements-edition Keanu Reeves, and the entire cast of Friday Night Lights, who may be doomed to heartbreak, but dammit, they're going to win this game."

Jacksonville Tv reporting Jaguars signed Tim Tebow

Local Jax Tv ch 47 reports the Jaguars signed Tim Tebow:

Apparently the Jaguars are in some sort of negotiations. Neither Tebow's agent, Jaguars or the NFL is confirming or most notably denying the story. With its starting QB out for the season, few options and a dismal season ahead the JAX Jags owner may be over ruling his new and unproven GM. Next year they will have an entirely new coaching staff. Maybe Tebow's hometown was always his destination….

"A-Manning" and "Special K" score big, NFL Week #1

Peyton Manning and Colin Kapernick proved a point this weekend with big impressive wins against tough opponents. The Niners and Broncos are going to be red Xs on every teams calendar.
Russell Wilson and Cam Newton did not impress us at all.
Oakland's QB Pryor, EJ Manuel and Carson Palmer played tough, showed grit and came up short.
Teams that showed major weaknesses and needs moving forward. New England Patriots and the New York Giants.
Dallas and the New York Jets showed promise in major wins for their franchises. Geno Smith beat the Bucs with the help of a rejuvenated defense and a stupid shove. Romo's Cowboys showed up enough to finally beat the Giants at home thanks to 7 turn overs......
Who will be showing up on the Trade and Waiver wires soon: Glaubert, Sanchez, Tebow, Wilson and Akers.
There are two games left in week one. Does your Fantasy Football Team need an RGIII miracle????
Mine does, thanks to Peyton and Brady...............

Tim Tebow changing positions

Tim Tebow reportedly gets inquiry to change positions - NFL.com:

"TheMMQB.com's Peter King reported Thursday night on NBC that Tebow received an 'inquiry' from an NFL team about possibly trying another position, but Tebow wasn't interested. Tebow reportedly also received some interest from USA Rugby in changing sports. That's not happening.

It's hard to knock Tebow for his unwillingness to change positions. He hasn't made it at quarterback, and there's little reason to think he could succeed at another spot. Tebow tipped his intentions after the Patriots released him when he wrote on Twitter: 'I will remain in relentless pursuit of continuing my lifelong dream of being an NFL quarterback.'

Perhaps another team will let Tebow take a shot at pursuing that dream next offseason when rosters expand to 90 men again. It's hard to imagine him getting a job at quarterback in the meantime.

Football is back: Tips for Week 1 after Broncos win.

Football is back: Tips for Week 1 - NFL.com

Delayed for thirty minutes by lightning the NFL opener  was worth the wait. At first Manning and Flacco traded touchdowns while the Ravens defense looked like it could live without Ray Lewis and veteran CB Revis. Then the 3rd quarter turned into a Madden NFL video game with my nephew playing the Peyton Manning character. One blown non-challenge flag by Ravens Head Coach Harbaugh on a Wes Welker catch turned the Ravens defense into jelly. Peyton Manning found two new favorite receivers while scoring 35 points in the third quarter. While the Broncos defense turned the Ravens into tackling dummies.

The Broncos even left a few points on the board. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000239045/article/broncos-lb-danny-trevathan-has-blooper-to-remember

Tebow cut by Patriots

Tebow's skills not enough for Patriots - ESPN:

"Tebow is likely headed somewhere else"

Three Quarterbacks are hard to keep around on a 53 man roster. But the kid did cause Mallet to sweat and he appeared to have the backing and encouragement of Brady. If Tebow does not get picked up by the Bills they should fold the franchise. Not too long ago the Patriots sucked really bad and brought in a guy named Flute. Doug actually sparked the rebirth of the franchise. Buffalo is a mess, perhaps that is where Tim should go?

Tim Tebow on roster Death Watch?

Coach knows best. With an immobile aging QB the Patriots need a 3 QB roster. Losing Hernandez, injury prone Amendola and a questionable Gronkowski keeping a pile of Tight Ends and Receivers just makes sense. The Defense will need to be close to perfect this year. That said, the Patriots did cut 11 players.

Tim Tebow of New England Patriots not worried about fate with team - ESPN Boston:

"While not in the clear yet, Tebow did survive the team's Monday cut down to 77 players. The Patriots have until Tuesday to get down to the mandatory 75."

2013 NFL training camp - New targets not slowing Tom Brady - ESPN

2013 NFL training camp - New targets not slowing Tom Brady - ESPN:

"FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- So much for feeling sorry for Tom Brady.

The offseason completely altered Brady's bunch of pass-catchers as camp opened minus his seven top targets from 2012. Wes Welker, Aaron Hernandez, Deion Branch, Brandon Lloyd and Danny Woodhead were gone. Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman were injured.

The Patriots spent two days going against the Philadelphia Eagles' defense, and Brady dominated with a completely new cast of receiving characters.

That bodes well for the future. If Brady can succeed with a younger group of receivers and then get Gronkowski back, watch out.

Here are the five things I noticed at Patriots training camp."

Analysis: Patriots-Eagles

Analysis: Patriots-Eagles: "It’s just one game, but the pieces of New England’s 2013 roster puzzle are beginning to find places where they fit. Here’s what stood out from the team’s first real test of the summer:

…The running game looked dominant and the stable of backs were all contributed, both on the ground and through the air. The young wide receiver corps also impressed early, but was hindered by some drops and other balls that were thrown just out of reach. Overall, however, the offense looked like its usual dominant self. Excellent start for New England offensively."

Aaron Hernandez killed Odin Lloyd, says accomplice

Credit: Getty
Former New England Patriots star Aaron Hernandez was implicated by an alleged accomplice as the man who shot and killed a semi-pro football player in Massachusetts last month, according to bombshell court documents obtained today by ABC News.
Carlos Ortiz, who prosecutors say was with Hernandez when Odin Lloyd was killed, told cops he was informed by the second alleged accomplice that "Mr. Hernandez admitted to shooting Mr. Lloyd."
The statement is included in an eight-page affidavit filed in Fort Lauderdale today. The document was submitted in Florida because the second alleged accomplice, Ernest Wallace, 41, was arrested near Fort Lauderdale, in Miramar, after Hernandez was charged with murder. Lloyd, 27, was killed June 17 at an industrial area near Hernandez's million-dollar home in North Attleboro, Mass.
Accusations that Hernandez pulled the trigger marked a major development in the case of the disgraced all-pro who was released from the Patriots as soon as he was arrested last month. Until today, the authorities had refused repeatedly to say who among the three men – Hernandez, Ortiz and Wallace – they believe actually fired the five rounds that killed Lloyd in what's been termed an execution-style slaying.
According to a separate volume of court records released today in Massachusetts, Ortiz's words were also key in flagging investigators to Hernandez's "flop house" in Franklin, Mass. It was there that investigators said they recovered ammunition similar to the .45-caliber bullets used to kill Lloyd.

Re-Post: Hernandez Bingo

Bengals, Colts skipped Aaron Hernandez in 2010 draft

One AFC front-office executive recently speculated that the New England Patriots were the only team willing to gamble a fourth-round pick on Aaron Hernandez in the 2010 NFL Draft. Hernandez was widely regarded as a second-round talent, but many teams took him off their draft boards because of failed drug tests and rumors that he hung out with the wrong crowd.
Darlington: Chilling lesson for rookies
How did players at the NFL Rookie Symposium react to Aaron Hernandez's murder charge? Jeff Darlingtonwas on the scene. More ...
Owner/general manager Mike Brown acknowledged to Fox Sports Ohio that his Cincinnati Bengals were one of those teams with no intention of rolling the dice on Hernandez three years ago.
"That one is no secret. We just stayed away from (Hernandez)," Brown said. "We didn't question the playing ability. But we went for (Jermaine) Gresham."
Brown also revealed that Rob Gronkowski -- the other tight end drafted by the Patriots in 2010 -- was taken off the Bengals' board "because he had a bad back" coming out of the University of Arizona. Gronkowski recently had back surgery.
Perhaps even more interesting than those revelations was Brown's guileless discussion of the team's evolution in philosophy regarding players red-flagged for behavioral issues. It's a dilemma to which NFL teams have begun devoting more resources.
The Bengals had been more conscientious about drafting the "right type of person" under Brown's father, Paul Brown, the legendary founder of the franchise. Mike Brown liberalized the policy on ne'er-do-wells once other teams "sort of had us for lunch" with the aid of talented but troubled players. He began taking chances on players with lengthy rap sheets such as Chris Henry, Cedric Benson and Tank Johnson. Over a 17-month span between December 2005 and June 2007, 10 Bengals players accounted for 17 arrests.
Schein: A winning pair in Cincy?
The Bengals have made the last two postseasons, butAdam Schein still questions coach Marvin Lewis and QB Andy Dalton. More ...
By the time Hernandez entered the draft three years later, Brown had decided to return to the "old formula" of bringing in "sound people." That shift in thinking has coincided with the recent rise of social media. NFL teams are finding more and more that the poisonous publicity risk isn't worth the on-field reward.
UPDATE: Add the Indianapolis Colts to the list of teams that didn't want to draft Hernandez.
Former Colts general manager Bill Polian told the Wall Street Journal that the team passed on Hernandez despite its need for a tight end.
"There were questions there, which is why a guy of that talent lasted until the fourth round," said Polian, who added that the Colts, who took tight end Brody Eldridge in the fifth round, "never got that far" in evaluating Hernandez.
"We were not in the Hernandez business," Polian said.

Chuck Norris is a Tim Tebow Fan, Mark Sanchez still sucks

"I've heard the so-called critics say Tebow has poor technical skills, but the truth is that Tim is a natural-born leader, an amazingly gifted football player, an inspiration to his team and the possessor of intense determination and strategy to bring any team to victory -- no matter what the odds," Chuck Norris wrote on WND.com. Tebow cut by Jets?

Dan Graziano of ESPNNewYork.com reported on Tuesday that Tebow still is a goner. The Jets reportedly still are holding out hope that they can trade Tebow. (I'm also holding out hope for a growth spurt, but I'm starting to think it's not happening after turning 34 years old.)
The plan remains to release Tebow, according to Graziano. It's possible they could keep him until the 2013 NFL Draft.
To this, we say: Why bother? There is absolutely no chance a team will trade for Tebow. The Jets have five quarterbacks on the roster and clearly have no use for Tebow.
Tebow surely regrets ever coming to the Jets. I never faulted the Jets for not playing him last season, but this hopeless endeavor to get value in a possible trade is ridiculous.
